About

Why we're making Belaywork

Projects with a finish line deserve better than a group chat and a shared drive. We're building the place they can live from the brief to done.

The problem

Projects are scattered across chat, shared drives, documents, spreadsheets and people's heads. Nobody has the whole picture, the work is split unevenly, and the person who doesn't know where to start stays stuck.

General tools either start with a blank page or track tasks without the material the work is made of. We wanted one place for a project's goal, plan, material and people, that always shows each person what to do next.

What we hold to

  • A finish line

Belaywork is for projects that end: reports, theses, launches, client projects, a startup's next ninety days. That boundary decides what we build.

  • No blank page

Every project starts from a kit and three answers, or from the brief you were given.

  • Everyone has their part

Dividing the work, and seeing that it's fair, is part of the product, not a report someone has to run.

  • Calm

One next step for each person, and notifications only when someone must act. No streaks, badges or tours.

  • Beside your other tools

Writing stays in Word or Google Docs, chat in Discord or WhatsApp, meetings in Teams or Meet. We link to them and keep the files.

  • Private by default

Invite-only projects, hosting in the EU and no AI, on every plan. Everything beyond your name and email is optional, and yours to change, download or delete.
